Research interest:
My research interest involves studying the microbial diversity of stingless bee products; isolating different Bacillus spp. that are beneficial - such as keratinase producing bacterium, antimicrobial peptide producer as well as bacteria that can precipitate calcium carbonate for self-healing concrete. My research focuses on metabolic engineering for production of bioproducts. The research uses systems biology approach in order to understand and manipulate the bacterial metabolic capabilities.
