Dr. Juan Boo Liang obtained his PhD in animal nutrition from the University of Alberta, Canada and is presently a Principal Research Fellow at the Laboratory of Sustainable Animal Production and Biodiversity, Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Prior to his current appointment, he had a long-standing career as Senior Research Scientist in the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) and later served as Associate Professor, teaching animal nutrition, at the Department of Animal Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia. His current research interests include the utilization and bioconversion of local feed resources as animal feed with special emphasis on methane mitigation from livestock and the effects of animal antibiotic residues on the environment. JB Liang is actively collaborating with local and international scientists and technology companies in the above and other research areas. He also serves an the President of the Sustainable Animal Agriculture for Developing Countries (SAADC) and Chairman of the Asian-Australasian Dairy Goat Network (AADGN).
