This theme is achieved through trace analyses of organic and inorganic compounds in environmental samples using molecular
marker approach on transport processes of the pollutants in the environment to reveal their distributions, sources, behaviors and
fates. Among the areas to be explored include:-
- Development, evaluation and field application of molecular markers
- Development of analytical methods of new environmental contaminants and their application
- Distribution and behavior of organic contaminants in aquatic environments
- Estimation of sources of organic micro-pollutants
- Uptake and accumulation of organic micro-pollutants to organisms
- Development of monitoring methods for organic micro-pollutants
